The Public Shelter BOTOSANI from above... 

In the city of Botosani in Northern Romania...
Approximately 850 + dogs are held here with more coming in daily after being caught by the cities elected Dog Catchers. Some of these dogs have been here for years, puppies grow up here. Old dogs die here. The reality of a public shelter in Eastern Europe. Multiple dogs in each cage in each row. Dogs fight for food, the weaker dogs dont survive. A man made tragedy of huge proportion. Thousands of dogs on the street, unneutered/unspayed continuing the ever increasing circle of life, puppies being born and abandoned on the street or in the shelter. Born to a life of pain, disease and suffering and eventual incarceration here. Not just in Botosani, all over Romania. 
This is why we continue our spay/neuter campaign for dogs and cats. It is the only way forward, it is the only way to make a difference. 
Whilst we try to find rescues in Europe and the UK to bring the dogs to their respective countries for adoption, its not enough.  We have to continue to raise funds to stop the puppies being born on the street in the first place. The volunteers on the ground there are pushing the Free Spay/Neuter campaign in and around the city of Botosani, in the surrounding villages and towns... Associations from the UK & Europe joining together, to fund the free castrations. But we cant do it without the help of our wonderful supporters around the world....
